35th General Assembly: the ERYICA network in action

From 22-25 May 2024, ERYICA held its 35th General Assembly in Bucharest, marking a significant occasion to engage with our members and delve into pivotal topics impacting youth work and our network.

Thanks to the intersection of ERYICA’s GA with our hosts’ GA, we had the pleasure of welcoming more than 190 participants who engaged with crucial themes such as democracy, elections, youth participation, and artificial intelligence.

We were delighted to have several expert speakers with us, such as Virgil Spiridon (CoE cybercrime office), Arianna Sala (Joint Research Center), and Irina Buzu (CAI delegate), who shared their insights on the topic of Artificial Intelligence, alongside with key stakeholders such as Tobias Flessenkemper (Council of Europe) and Mathieu Orphanides (European Commission) who discuss the state of art of youth information in the European sphere.

In the biggest election year in history, we could not miss the opportunity to organise a panel discussion with our dear stakeholders EYCA and Eurodesk, who presented their projects on the European Elections 2024.

During the event, we honoured two influential figures in ERYICA's history: Antje Rothemund and Jaana Fedotoff. Both received the Bernard Award for their distinguished careers in youth work and their significant contributions to the evolution of youth information over the decades.

Moreover, we proudly welcomed two new European Youth Information Quality Label holders: LiJOT (Lithuania) and L’MIT (Slovenia). This recognition raises the total number of certified organisations to ten. Congratulations to both!

Additionally, we witnessed the official signing of the European Youth Information Charter in Romanian, demonstrating the commitment of our great hosts, Fundatia Nationala pentru Tineret, to the Charter's principles and to the ERYICA network.

The final standout moment was the inclusion of the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center into our network, expanding ERYICA's reach to a new country, Moldova. This addition underscores our ongoing growth and the increasing recognition of our mission across Europe.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this event memorable, with a special mention to our hosts FNT.
